Description
This 20" tall external stabilizer pile guide is patent protected and made of HDPE. It is designed to be used with externally placed round piles on a floating dock as shown. It is bolted to the edge of the floating dock using a fixed aluminum bracket.
The unique HDPE collars on the top and bottom of the guide sharply limit the roll of a floating dock that might be caused by waves or a boat wake. Reducing the roll of the floating dock reduces the weakening effect that such torsional twisting will have on the integrity of the floating dock itself, thereby lengthening its useful life. It increases the safety and stability of the floating dock. This guide can be used with any type of pile material (e.g., treated wood, fiberglass, composite, etc.), and the size of the guide is fully customizable. If a matched size HDPE pipe is used to encase a wood pile, this will further reduce the roll of the floating dock because of the close fit between the pipe and the stabilizer, and will provide protection to the wood pile from shipworms and barnacles. The stabilizer guides, and matching HDPE pipe, are available in a variety of sizes. All of Sea Power’s HDPE products are non-leaching (unlike treated lumber and corrosive metals), and will not harm the aquatic environment.
Second Generation Slide Guide System

Extended Bearing Surface
The stainless steel guide features an extended bearing surface that increases pile engagement, improves rigidity, and reduces flex under higher side loads. Field testing confirmed measurably increased rigidity over the previous design.
